Chocolate and peanut butter...healthy? Usually my two favorite cravings are paired in ice cream or a candy bar---definitely not healthy. This spring I focused on eating healthier...but there was no way I could ever eliminate chocolate and peanut butter completely. After a week of giving up my favorites....I hit Pintrest and searched for a healthy chocolate peanut butter fix. I found a simple recipe that I could whip up in no time, store in the fridge, eat on the run, and best of all---not feel guilty over eating chocolate and peanut butter! These two-bite gems are packed with protein and no refined sugar. Carbs, fat, and sugars are low. Fiber and protein are high. With only 5 ingredients it took less than 5 minutes to mix up these no baked bites. Here's the recipe---
5 Ingredient Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Energy Bites. 2/3 cup peanut butter (I use natural crunchy) ½ cup Hershey dark chocolate chips 1 cup old fashioned oats ½ cup ground flax seed 2 Tablespoons honey Combine all 5 ingredients in a bowl. Stir. Place in the refrigerator for 15 minutes to make it easier to roll. Roll into 12 bites and store in a zip baggie in the fridge for up to a week. (I use my small cookie scoop which makes 16 smaller bites.) I found this recipe at chefsavvy.com https://chefsavvy.com/5-ingredient-peanut-butter-energy-bites/ I eat one of my chocolate peanut butter balls as a mid-morning or mid-afternoon snack and it is the perfect chocolate-peanut butter fix for me! Enjoy without feeling guilty! ---Rebecca Nutrition Information: Serving size: 1 Calories: 185 Saturated fat: 2.2g Carbohydrates: 17.6g Fiber: 3.6g Net Carbs: 14g Sugar: 6.1g Sodium: 69mg Protein: 6.3g
